The ranch house is perfect. It’s 1500 sqft but it’s not well suited to a large group of visitors (which of course I want). I also want an office and workshop that I can use outside of the main house. The answer is a bunk house designed to be 50’ x 20’ with 1/3 dedicated to my office and 2/3 as a bunkhouse for family and friends.
While building the bunk house, it’s an opportunity to dramatically improve the energy efficiency and self-sufficency.
